Job Market > Employers

The AFSE wants to contribute to the placement of young economists both in academic and nonacademic positions. At the occasion of its 2015 Annual Meeting in Rennes, the AFSE is happy to propose new Job services for its members.

Job Market services will open on April 15, 2015.

Employers:

Universities, research institutions, public and private companies are all invited to join the AFSE association, to participate in its 2015 Annual Meeting and to benefit from the following services:

  • Post a Job Opening

You plan to hire an economist between June 2015 and May 2016, post a Job Opening on the AFSE Job Market Database (AFSE-JMD). You can update your job opening whenever you want after the first posting. The database is active from the dates of the AFSE Annual Meeting to May next year at the latest. Job candidates can consult your offer during this period. Then, the database is reset.

Go to the AFSE job market web page: http://www.afse.fr/gene/main.php?base=100030

  • Meet with future Job candidates at the 2015 AFSE meeting

At the 2005 AFSE annual meeting, you will be able to meet with future job candidates by three channels: Contributed sessions, Poster Sessions and Interviews.

First, you can browse the final program and select the contributed sessions which welcome specifically tagged job market papers.

Second, you can join the Poster sessions to meet young economists presenting their work and profile: Monday, 22 during the cocktail party from 7 to 8 pm.

Third, you can meet with a future job candidate for an interview by using the special interview service offered to you when you post a job opening on the AFSE-JMD (see above for accessing the AFSE job market web page).

  • Attend a “Jobs for Economists” Session

This year, the AFSE organizes for the first time during its Annual Meeting, four thematic sessions on specific areas of “Jobs for economists”. In these special jobs sessions, economists from private or public companies, and directors of post-graduate programs and/or Research Institutions are invited to discuss the evolution of the jobs in their field of expertise and to share their experiences with future job candidates.

-          Environment, Energy and Transport, Monday, 22; 2pm-3.30 pm

-          Economic Policy, Public Policy Evaluation, Tuesday, 23; 2.30 pm-4 pm

All jobs sessions are public. However, as a potential recruiter, you may have a special interest in one of them. In this case, you can specifically register to the session by sending an email to: jobssessions@afse.fr mentioning the title(s) of the session(s) you are interested in. You will be included in the follow up contacts list for this session.
